SPRING PROGRAM
IMPORTANT
As part of our registration process, all players must be registered with USA Lacrosse. The cost is $30 per year and it includes player's insurance.
We use TeamSnap for registrations. If you DO NOT currently have a TeamSnap account, the registration page will prompt you to create one before you continue.

3rd through 8th Grade
Early March to Early June
Minimum 4 Practices/Games per week
The 3rd-8th Travel Program is designed to develop (or with newer players, begin to develop) the skill sets needed for competitive play. The curriculum is designed to take each individual boy to his next level, and the teams and program in general to the highest levels possible. Each grade will play other town programs from Essex and Bergen counties, in the highest ("AAA") division of the North Jersey Junior Lacrosse League.
Our aim is to have “A” and “B” level games at each grade, to allow all players to get experience at the level appropriate for their current level of skill. Coaches have full discretion to decide in which level games the players will play, and to vary rosters as they see fit according to skill level, attitude, and attendance. Our goal is a ratio of two or three practices to one game per week, and to have our travel games on weekends and practices during the week, but there will be exceptions to this general structure. Players must play with their school grade, so playing "up" one or more school grades is prohibited.

Junior Bulldogs
Early March to End of May
Practices & Scrimmages are twice a week
The Junior Bulldogs program is designed to develop fundamental skills, experience with game play, and, most importantly, a continuing love of the game. This is the level at which the boys first wear full equipment, though we limit contact and overly aggressive play. (Any 1st graders not ready for full gear and light contact are welcome to move to our Mini-laxers program.) After the first several weeks of skill-building drills and mini-competitions, we divide the boys evenly into teams that play small-sided games in our In-House League.

Mini-Laxers
When: Early March to Late May
The Mini-Laxers program is designed to develop fundamental skills, an introduction to game concepts, and, most importantly, a love of the game. We seek a very high coach-to-player ratio and play with sticks only and tennis or soft rubber balls. Since this is a non-competitive learning environment, there won’t be any official lacrosse games, but we will keep the boys active and engaged and focused on FUN.
Who: Montclair Kindergarteners (and any 1st graders who may not be ready or willing to wear full gear)
When: Sundays 12:00-1:00, late March through end of May
