The goal of our Mini-Laxers program is to develop fundamental skills, a sense of game concepts, and, most importantly, a love of the game. The Mini-Laxers program is designed for Kindergarteners and 1st graders who may not be ready or willing to wear full gear. We seek a very high coach-to-player ratio, so kids get focused individual attention. In order to ease them into the game, the younger players start with sticks only and the instruction is with tennis balls and some softer rubber balls. Since this is a non-competitive learning environment, there won’t be any official lacrosse games, but TONS of fun lax related games and activities to keep the boys active and running almost the whole time. We will work on some fun 3v3 games towards the end of our season.
For those 1st graders who are ready to don full equipment for the first time and start to scrimmage some in addition to the skills & drills to which they are accustomed, and they can move over to our 1st and 2nd Grade in-house league program.
Usually, the season starts on March 28th and ends on May 30th and sessions are Sundays 4:30-5:30 pm.
Cost: $100. Financial aid is available for those who qualify. Contact Jessica Freeman with any questions about registration: firstname.lastname@example.org. All players must be registered with US Lacrosse, which is part of our registration process.
