The Montclair High School Boy’s Lacrosse program strives to play together as a High School team both in the summer months and the fall months. Each summer our goal is to play in 2 summer tournaments where we play against other quality HS teams at college coach attended showcases. Each Fall our goal is to play in 1 fall tournament together as a High School team. We have a Varsity and JV team for these events.

In the summer of 2019, we participated in The Battle of the High Schools Summer Tournament, facing off against 3 quality NJ opponents, finishing 3-0. In the summer of 2020, we were only able to participate in 1 tournament due to COVID. We participated in the Philly v NJ Challenge and finished the day with a 2-1 record against many talented Philadelphia area teams.

Why do we do this? There is a consistent trend that shows high school lacrosse teams that play together in the offseason are often the more successful programs in the state. We see this as a valuable time for our dedicated coaching staff to continue developing our current HS players both at the Varsity and JV level. It also allows us to give our players an opportunity to be seen by college coaches and collect game videos to send to college programs they are interested in.

How/when do we find out more? Coach Diehl will have a player/parent meeting towards the end of the spring each year to discuss the summer schedule and specific information relative to the summer/fall program

Our staff believes playing during these times of the year will prepare our team fully for the HS spring season and give our players the opportunity to be fully developed and reach their highest potential.
