We aim to develop both the athletic skills and the personal character necessary to succeed on and off the field. We value determination, persistence, selflessness, trust, and good teammanship as necessary skills for individual and team success.

INDOOR “BOX” LEAGUE

Registration now closed

Join us this winter for a fast and furious version of the game we all love.

Non-stop action in tight spaces requiring quick sticks and fast decisions.

This is a super fun way to get a lot of touches and competitive game experience.

What: “Box” Lacrosse which is played in smaller teams on a smaller, indoor field with hockey boards.  Here’s a taste of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fHMQsYfavmQ.

Why: For fun, camaraderie, and to improve your game.

Where: Turf City in Wayne, NJ  (Click here for more information about the League.)

When: Saturdays, 12/1 12/8 12/15 1/5 1/12 1/26 2/2 2/9  (Specific game times are still TBD by the League)

Who: Experienced Montclair players in grades 3 through 8; the team age groups are 3rd+4th combined, 5th+6th combined, and 7th+8th combined.

Cost:  $290 per player

(Scholarships may be available, contact Jessica Freeman at   for more information.)

What’s next:  If interested and can make all game dates above*

*If you are interested in playing box lacrosse but may not be able to make all of the games or need additional information please email our registrar at    no later than 10/31st.  In the email indicate: your son’s full name, grade, and availability, (meaning if you know when he can definitely attend, or if he would like to attend but may have conflicts with other sports or activities.)

Families will be notified on 11/30 about team assignments and next steps**.

The number of players is important.  There are 7 players on the field at a time—6 field players plus a goalie--so we need each team to have a minimum of around 12 players to allow them enough rest, and a maximum of around 15 players to get them enough playing time.  If we have more than enough for one team at any age group, we will split the players into two equally skilled teams.

More Info:

  • These are games only, no practices
  • For those “lax” players who play other sports (ie Hockey, Basketball etc), the schedule/commitment can accommodate participation.  However, if your child will need to miss more than TWO box games, please do not sign them up or have them show up for tryouts, to be fair to those who can commit to attending all games.
  • There are 7 players on the field per team, including the goalie.  No long poles.  We will carry +/-15 players on each of the three teams.
  • Players chosen for box lacrosse will register and pay with the box league directly.
